I'm looking to book for 2 adults and 1 child to go from MEL to LAX in October. At the moment V Australia is around $4500 in total and QF is around $7000. Any chances of these prices coming down, are there regular sale events that I should look out for etc.?

Cheers,

James.

It is still a little early for sales covering October.

Don't know much about V Australia but QF has the Global Roaming Sale on right now and the dates covered are 01/08/2011-14/09/2011.

What time in October are you looking at going? Generally there are no sales for travel in the last 2 weeks of September and first 2 weeks of October.

Ah yes, it's school holidays, hadn't realised. My Sister's getting married on 2nd October, so we'll be heading out sometime before that and back sometime after. Probably spend 1 1/2 to 2 weeks there.

Looks like we'll just have to bite the bullet and pay the money then.
