Hi there I would to ask for some advise in sending my Aunt and also my wife on a trip to Dublin in July / August

Was hoping to take advantage of a couple of QF lounge cards and perhaps boost my wife status as well. However the main gold is Brisbane or Sydney > Dublin > Edinburgh > Rome > Brisbane or Sydney.

I was thinking that Australia > Singapore > Dubai Dublin Breaks the trip down for my Aunt . Then Ryanair or similar to Edinburgh and then onto Rome.... From Rome Dubai Singapore Australia.

Would like to keep costs down if possible and perhaps accrue some status credits and even if I can buy lounge access for the trip it may be worthwhile so the ladies can freshen up.

They may opt for 2 long hope ie Brisbane Dubai Dublin but I am being kind at lease I hope so.

Thank you for any assistance you can give.

regards,

Taj

Sounds like you already have a pretty good idea of what you are doing.

I would personally go for the longer, more direct options. i.e. BNE-DXB-DUB, returning FCO-DXB-BNE. Unless you actually wanted to stop in Singapore for a couple of days, that is. This isn't a bad way to break up the trip if it's a proper stopover, but going via Singapore will just add to the travel time unnecessarily if doing it all in one go.

Flying around Europe between DUB-EDI and EDI-FCO on low-cost airlines is absolutely fine.

Also, keep in mind that those Qantas Club passes can only be used in actual Qantas lounges.
