Hi all.
I've been a member for quite a few years, but don't think I've ever posted - sorry.

I'm currently helping my 25 yr old daughter plan her European trip for 2024. Itinerary is (so far for flights): SYD-LHR-BUD (via SIN) / LHR-SYD (via SIN) on BA. We're looking at BA because, for her, it has the best connecting times, and the prices is within her budget for Premium Economy. Also, if it's all on one ticket, the reasoning is, if something goes pear shaped, than BA will need to fix it. I also feel that keeping it to one airline as much as possible will be easier to manage.

She'll be spending a week or 2 in Europe - Budapest, Prague, definitely Transylvania and France and then the rest of the trip will be in the UK, probably for about 4 weeks.

Finnair is probably worth a look.

I have used them several times including last year when I flew a similar routing (Outwards Melbourne, Hong-Kong, Helsinki, Prague; Back London, Helsinki, Singapore, Melbourne)

She had considered Finnair, however the total pricing is about $3k over her allotted budget. She can 'currently' book BA for all flights for just under $5k, anything else we've found is closer to $7k and above. She's also made a spreadsheet of what and where she wants to do - places she's visiting/staying and events she's going to, so her dates are pretty much set in stone. She also MUST be back in SYD not later than 4/5 June. Her UNI graduation is set for 7 June (graduating from her MA !)

She's well underway with the planning, spreadsheet and all. Accommodation tentatively booked etc. She knows where and when she wants to be at certain places for certain events or sights.
She was just waiting for her leave to be approved, which has now provisionally been done, so she can book her flights. The leave being confirmed didn't really matter from her going on holiday per se, she will be resigning either way - when se comes back she'll be looking to start a PHD with the possibility (they want her) to work part time at her current job, so it's a win/win situation for them both.
She's just finished her MA degree and needs to be back in SYD not later than 4/5 June 2024 as her graduation is set for 7th June.
