Noticed at least 5 cars with their windows smashed!
I guess parking at an independent operator might protect you from this? The one I have used in the past professes to have 24 hour security.

Maybe one day a driverless train/monorail? Cough splutter. Choking on weetbix.....
Well you know Brisbane has the Airtrain, but it doesn't like to run after dark!!
I've done some sums for my travel this Easter and it came down to a choice of either $120 for a 13 days LTCP or rent cars to/from the airport using my corp discount for ~$125* - I'm renting cars.
[*$125 = $95 nett car hire + 2 x $4.30 "Tulla Pass" + ~$22 in fuel.]
What about other near to airport long term parking.
There are similar companies in BNE near the round-about.
you just need to allow two hours to get through that round about until the new road opens in a few months time....
You are having problems when the cab fare from the Dom terminal has already broached $30 before you're thru the unmerry-go-round.:evil:Not had any problems with the roundabouts near the airport, touch wood.

What about alternatives like public transport or car rental?
Oh, wait, this is Melbourne.
I almost felt like some rage yesterday as my one day car parking at MEL was $45 !! thats a lot for a day when a week only costs about double that
But 1 day at $45 compared better than $160 for taxi's and its convenient just to drive.
I always try to park at the end of the LTCP in MEL near the AFP and walk over avoiding the buss completely, and besides and walking i do is good before spending a long time on a plane.
E
You should query that, one day in the LTCP should only be $25, two days is still only $40!
I realise no one has the money right now, but a Maglev would be really good.
The Airtrain is awful. Even when it is running it takes 1.5 hours from the Gold Coast. The last time I used it we broke down leaving the GC and I ended up paying through the roof in a taxi so I wouldn't miss my flight.

Did you ask for QR to pay for the taxi? As cab driver in the mid 1990s I had many fares from QR transporting passengers around due to broken trains, or weekend maintainence issues. Even did one from Northside to ipswich. But you have to ask and it probably has to be an urgent issue, like missing a plane.
Airtrain have a gurantee which can be found here Brisbane's Airtrain - Airtrain Guarantee
They will pay up to $400. Good luck getting it out of them.
At the time that I'm referring to they won't know if you missed the plane or not. Bascially, train breaks down, go to station master tell them you need to get to the airport, get given a cabcharge voucher, assuming they can't organise other transport.I reckon they wouldn't pay if you almost missed the plane, but if you did miss it, then they'd pay, as if it'd matter because then you have a whole load of other issues.

Besides the driving people to Ipswich, I also had a fare to the Wacol prison for a vistor, I assume that the timing was important due to limited vistor hours meaning that only a taxi was going to work to get them there on time, rather than a bus or whatever other transport QR might have organised. Catching a plane would have a similar time limiting factor.
Of course, this was a long time ago and they probably don't do it anymore.
