Hi All - I've got a question Im hoping you can help with.

As you can see below I have a long (intentional) transit in SIN and going to head into the city for dinner and see friends. Staying at a hotel. My question is when landing in Singapore will I able to pick up my bags or will they get held for the Singapore > coughet flight the next day? I'm hoping I can get my bags.

Given it's a 3K (jetstar) flight to HKT I'd say you will only be tagged to SIN and will have to pick up your bags and re check in at T4 in SIN for the JQ flight next day.

One of the help articles on the JQ website does set out the following exception to baggage transfers between connecting international flights on the same booking:

That's an interesting one.

To me it is a bit unclear though. The wording implies that it is connecting TO partner flights rather than from (or both)? it's a bit ambiguous to me. Although in the case of a connection at SIN that is essentially international->international it does make sense as it wouldn't make a lot of sense to force you to collect bags (and thus enter SIN) on such a connection - and of course if one cannot enter the country then they're in trouble).

Actually I just realised the recent problem with the pax stuck in Japan connecting from AY to JQ actually fits this scenario and that was an online connection. So, I guess there would be a transfer/through check of bags.

Anyway in this situation I agree either way to just ask for bag to be tagged to SIN.
