Hi Guys,

Just finished booking an LONE4 with the AA RTW desk and ticketing on AA stock as follows:

AKL-xMEL-PER-xHKG-SEL,HKG-xNRT-DFW-SEA-DFW-xLAX-xLHR-xHEL-xHKG-PER,MEL-AKL

They priced taxes at $1078NZD which seems way on the steep side to me for AA. Anyone think there is an error here or is SEL very expensive to stopover in?

Spoke to the RTW dek - apparently there is a YQ tax (Fuel levies) of $645NZD on the ticket. This is indeed an alarming development if AA are now adding these and at these levels. Especially since QF just dropped the domestic fuel charges and you'd have to think others would be dropped on international routes soon?
Have asked for Dublin to review and reprice it - will let you know tomorrow. Does not bode well for the AA way of avoiding the fuel fines

Do you have any intercontinental flights using AA flight numbers - AA will charge their YQ on such segments - but not on the flight numbers of other carriers.

Serfty - yep AA flight #'s on the transcons for the EVIP upgrade chances.

I cross posted this issue here: Route Check Please - FlyerTalk Forums

Not sure if I'm supposed to reference FT here but most of the answers/discussion today is there for those interested and so probably should close this thread off.

Cheers, paul
