Search continues for man who apparently opened door and fell off plane at 2000 feet.

Yes a sad but seemingly true loss of life.

I spent 10 years jumping out of planes for fun....and this is just... weird. It is simply NOT POSSIBLE to just lean on, or lightly push on a light aircraft door to open it in flight... the airflow across it makes it quite difficult to open, especially wide enough to actually exit!

That is one of the reasons skydiving aircraft either have the doors removed, or have "in-flight" doors fitted (that go up against the wing of a high wing lightie)

I got out through the door of 152 once, and even thought the pilot had throttled back (How can you tell in a 152???lol) it still took quite a shove to get out...
