London Hiltons - Which is the best

I am a Diamond HH member, and have been spending about 50 nights a year in London for the past few years. I like walking in London, falling back to the tube when necessary - that has some influence on my hotel choice. I'm also looking for an exec lounge and quiet rooms with a good desk / internet. My favourite (since it opened a few years back) its the Hilton Bankside - behind the Tate Modern and near Southwark, Waterloo and London Bridge stations. Excellent rooms, regular upgrades, first class lounge, great breakfast restaurant, very good gym / pool, and plenty of quirky features (the foxes, bee hives, roof gardens) - and the staff are great. If the price is right, and for a change, I'll stay at the Conrad St James - I understand managed by the same team as the Bankside, and with equally high standards (although typically smaller rooms, less frequent upgrades, and generally more expensive). If the prices are too high at these two, I'll then look at the Hilton London Tower Bridge (decent lounge with deck, reasonably modern hotel, quiet location), Waldorf Hilton (great location, a little tired, but great buzz at times) and London Hilton on Park Lane (smaller rooms, average lounge, but great being near the parks). If pricing is very high, I tend to look at the Doubletree Westminster (always seems to be good value), Doubletree Tower of London (great rooftop bar), or the Hilton Paddington (the GWR 'hotel within a hotel' is quite good). I haven't had great experiences at the Hilton Metropole (very big, tired), Hilton Islington (noisy - may have been my bad luck) and Hilton Kensington (noisy, tired). Hilton Gatwick was a good option a couple of times (basic gym, lounge), and I'd like to try Syon park if I get the chance - also, Wembley will be added to my list after the comments above.

I use hilton a lot too but my favourite is Hyatt since their points are life time and unlike Hilton never expired.. Also Hyatt rooms availability using points globally is much better than Hilton.
Hyatt also got boutique hotels that has different flavour to big hotel experience and in London near Marble Arch you can pick Hyatt Regency at Portman Sq, wonderful spot since all nice shopping and restaurants around that got a old fashion lounge and also Andaz (Hyatt) in the city if you want business area..
I have a home in Avenue Street, St Johns Wood, which is walking distance to the London Zoo and if you prefer quite place then I suggest St Johns Wood, or Swiss Cottage area since these are premium london areas and very quite.

My favourite is the Hilton Waldorf. Great location next to Covent Garden and full of charm. The bar is a great place for a drink and the lounge is perfectly fine, if on the smaller side.

I booked in May 2017 for a stay in London in June 2017. I couldn't get my first few choices so settled on DT Islington. It turned out to be quite acceptable; there were a few small issues which were easily and quickly resolved.
What we liked the most was the location. There were buses going in all directions and Angel train station was only a 5 minute walk away. King's Cross and St. Pancras were about 15 minutes walk but we usually used the bus from directly opposite the hotel.
It was pricey but the room was spacious and the location excellent.

Hilton Paddington is my top pick, at least for the first few nights in London.
Access from Heathrow is brilliant via Heathrow Express - 15 mins and you’re there - the hotel has direct access from the station. In fact, if you’re not too worried about the cost, it’s worth ditching the chauffeur drive and going via train.
Some of the rooms are a bit “shabby” and in need of refurbishment but, if you ask nicely, the people at reception will generally move you to one of their better rooms. GWR Tower rooms are good, but the Tower Executive Lounge is not when compared to the main Exec Lounge which has great views over Paddington Station concourse and they’ll cook breakfast to order ! A great place to watch London come to life in the morning.
Oxford St is a 10 - 15 minute walk and there’s plenty to see on the way. If you venture a little “off piste” you’ll also find the roll-up and fan bridges (not far from Hilton Metropole Edgeware Rd), plus the Paddington Canal.

Pricey, but worth it if you’ve just flown in direct from AUS and want\need to get to your hotel promptly.

Doubletree Hyde Park is also quite decent at a reasonable (London) price, however it’s not particularly close to Oxford St.

For my coming trip I’d like to try a new property on top of my regular go-to Conrad. I will have guests this time so need large room, preferably suite or at least junior.
From your experience, which hotel is more generous with diamond upgrades, The Waldorf or Park Lane?
Both are at similar price (Waldorf £30 cheaper).

My top pick is Hilton Canary Wharf. As a mere gold I got a Junior Suite and returning as diamond i got the best room in the hotel on two stays - they really know how to look after elites. Apart from that Hilton Bankside is amazing value for its location, lounge and staff.

Hilton Paddington IMHO sucks and is one of the worst properties

I cannot advise on the above two Boomy but can you split the stays to enjoy the views in the exec lounge in Park Lane then the location of Waldorf?

I have 3 nights stay next week and traveling with luggage so my plan is 1st and 3rd night at Conrad so I can leave luggage there while going to check out another hotel for the 2nd night.

Waldorf Hilton has a fantastic location; some of the common areas and the gym/pool desperately need a face lift though. Most of the rooms have been renovated.

Any updates on whether the Hilton Park Lane is still a bit tired - tossing up between that and Conrad St James
