Any recommendations for an overnight stay, with luggage?
In a few months from now, I will be arriving on BA into T5, then departing the next day on SQ from T2.
A quick search shows the Hilton Garden Inn is a few minutes walk to T2.
Would I be best off taking the Heathrow Express from T5 to T2?

Hilton Garden Inn is great but expensive. Fantastic roof top bar overlooking the runway for BA..We used the free internal trains to move from one terminal to the next and walk T2 to T3.

Some discussion here that might help

I personally haven’t bothered with anything other than the Sofitel at Heathrow for many years now. They always look after us extremely well so we just stick with them

I've been staying at the Hilton Garden Inn (formerly Jury's Inn) since 2006. Always well priced, nice rooms (runway 27L side) & excellent brekkies. Less than 10 mins walk to Hatton Cross tube, then a 10 min train to T2&3. Will be trying out HGI T2 for my last night next month.

HGI T2/3 is the best option for T2/3 departures.
Stayed there multiple times, most recently this week. Fabulous roof top bar that’s open until midnight for the late arrivals.
T5 Departures is Sofitel
T4 Departures eg early QR to DOH I stay at Hilton London T4

All of these hotels are easy/ quick walking distance to departures at the respective terminals.

I’ve stayed at Sofitel and it’s very convenient connecting to T5. Connecting between terminals is also easy at Heathrow.

It really depends on whether you want to save some time to get to T2 connecting from T5 on day of departure. I personally would stay at T2 if departing from T2 to make it easier.

Thanks everyone, some great info. I'll go with the Hilton Garden Inn T2, given it's a morning departure.

If flying out on BA especially in F we use the Sofitel. For SQ and any other flights using T2 or T3 definitely the HGI. great bar and restaurant and fantastic airport views.

Excuse my ignorance LHR hotels but just never stayed o/n LHR in past.

We need 1nt Accom July 28 pre SQ flt out on 29 and checking hotels CP at T4 seems way better value than HGI at T2.

What am I missing? How difficult would it be get from CP to T2 with luggage?

Not hard at all. The CP has.a covered walkway to T4 and then jump on the free train to T2. Only fairly comfortable walks at either end

Just to clarify there are TWO HILTON GARDEN INNS near Heathrow.

One is at the airport and you can walk to from terminals and has a rooftop bar.
This one is $$$$.

The other is at Hatton Cross, you need to tube to it on the Picadilly line, get off at Hatton Cross which is the first stop and then a short walk.
Or use the Hoppa Bus/taxi.
This one is $$.
I was at this one recently and saw several people swearing when they turned up at the wrong one.

The HIlton Terminal 4 can be very good value for what you get

Also of note using the tube to get between Hatton Cross and any of the terminals at Heathrow (and vice versa) is free when using contactless credit card or Oyster card.

It’s probably the easiest property to access that’s not actually located at/walking distance from one of the terminals (vs Bath Rd properties which require transport on some form of a vehicle that operates on roads).

No lift/escalator though at Hatton Cross so may not work if you have luggage
