Hi all,

Is there a thread on here covering Air BNB or similar for London and Europe?
Any tips and tricks for first time user as researching for couple going in September.
Pay by credit card for those FF points?

Regards

I used AirBNB a couple of times in Europe, particularly Denmark. I focused on properties that had a few ratings and I've not had a bad experience yet!

Thankyou for the input...few rating meaning more than 10-20+?

You might also want to look at "only apartments", owners direct, homelidays among others. This year we used Airbnb & found it a good arrangement (we had no hassles so not totally sure of service recovery). We enjoyed the opportunity to build up a reference base from the hosts & also the opportunity to send private feedback to the hosts & Airbnb.

I think airBNB is great - have most of our Europe trip in them (Venice, Florence, Berlin, London and Paris). Actually used it for a family trip to rural Victoria. Agree look for at least 5 ratings (in the last 12mth period) or one with high ratings (the london place has over 30+) - contact the owners directly - I only book house/apartments all self contained. Once you stay they do a review on you which will assist you staying in future. My berlin place I had to be verified - Drivers Licence ect which was scanned and attached to my profile for airBNB as the home owner would only accept verified applications. I think someone who is already a member can refer you and you get a discount (will have to check this) - it was on my profile last time. So if you want it let me know via PM
