Hi all, hoping someone can help with these logistics questions.

QF022 (NRT-SYD) and then QF391 (SYD-NAN, FJ metal).
1. At NRT, assume bags can be checked through to NAN?
2. Can QF at NRT issue boarding passes for QF391?

VA154 (NAN-SYD) and then QF021 (SYD-NRT)
3. Assume VA can only check bags to SYD?
4. At SYD can transfer desk organise bags to be retagged or will it be necessary to go landside, get bags and checkin for VA flight?
5. If transfer desk can organise, any ideas of time required?
6. If checkin for VA154 at transfer desk, is it still possible to go landside?

many thanks in advance.

You don't need a boarding pass to transit at Sydney international so not getting one in NRT should not be an issue. you will have to clear customs at SYD and recheck on the way back? Once at a transfer desk you cannot go back and clear customs.

All on the same PNR? For outbound you should get checked all the way - or at least bags tagged.

For the return, VA will only check and tag to SYD. You would have to pick up your bags, exit customs and then re-check-in with QF.
