Linking 2 Booking Refs

I am flying in Y with my wife on 2 different booking refs, because we have different return dates.

I have requested seats next to each other for the outbound flight.

I remember reading on here that someone linked their 2 bookings refs or PNR together. What does this do exactly?

Just ring Qantas and let them know you would like to add a "TCP" to your booking for one of the flights. They'll need your booking reference, and the name of the other passenger.

What is a TCP? What is the advantage of doing this?

TCP = To Complete Party

The advantage is that it makes a logical link in the reservation system between the two passengers reservations. This tells the airline that the passengers are travelling together so they can do things like provide adjacent seating.

Works about 70% of the time. If your trip includes a non-QF flight but a oneworld airline, be early to checkin is my advice.

It is best to ensure both bookings have a TCP entry for the other party. i.e. Link "Booking A" to "party B" and "Booking B" to "party A".

This way the TCP information is available no matter which booking might be referenced first.
