Lifetime American Advantage?

Do AAdvantage have lifetime status (Plat, Exec Plat)? I can't see any reference to it on their Website.

If so, how many miles/qpoints, and is it more or less easy to achieve that with QF or other OW airlines:?:

Yes. 1MM = Gold. 2MM = Platinum.

Unlike the yearly status qualification where only EQM/EQP/segments qualify you, for lifetime status all miles count - including the ones accrued by credit card purchases. See Non-Air Mileage for ways to earn miles without flying.

Thanks for the information and the quick reply futaris; the bit about all miles qualifying (including CC miles) is most interesting.
