So I also made it to LTG today! Very nice to have as all our work travel must be in Y and there may be years ahead when I don’t reach WP or SG. Currently WP but only for the last two years so I’ll enjoy the first lounges etc while it lasts

True - first 7000 took at least a decade - second 7000 was 18mths

Thank you @SYD and @GDSman for your kind words of encouragement. It's been a little over 10 years since I joined/started crediting to QFF. Here's to hoping that I hit LTG in the next 36 months.

I was Gold when I received LTG so I don’t know the answer.
I do know when you drop from WP they soft land and send a new Gold card

Presumably if you get to LTG while WP they’d notify you of LTG and give you the option to receive the LTG card

Nope. Not IME. You get notified and now the app shows you LTG. They probably assume that a WP card (real or virtual) trumps a Gold card?

When I dropped from WP to LTG a year ago I was told I'd have to get a new membership card as they've changed the barcode on the back. So I had to cut up my old WP card, as it wouldn't work at BP etc.
The new Gold card, has 'LIFETIME' under the Expiry Date.

Yep, but while you remain WP/P1 they don’t issue a physical LTG card (I never received a LTS card either).

I did get a new physical WP card not that long ago - that might have also been something to do with the barcodes. But there’s no mention of LTG.

I went LTG over 15 years ago, but remained WP until a couple of years ago. I have never received a physical LT Gold card.

No - what's the point in doing so?

To me, it's inconsequential. Likewise, I hadn't had a physical WP card for years and didn't see any point in having one.

Also, LTGs only show as SG on the pax manifest, so it doesn't mean anything special outside the pleasure of knowing trying hard for the (increasingly dubious) honour of QF status is no longer required...

Many here seem to value a physical card over the virtual. I’m less fussed.

Either way, LT OWS is not to be sniffed at.

Mine was sent out automatically, not requested, some months after reaching LTG (when WP lapsed), maybe at the new membership year.
