Life Time Gold - The [Realistic] Holy Grail

Made it!
8 years to LTS. A further 3 years to LTG. WP for the last 5 years. Thank you AFF's for all the tricks of the trade!

Congratulations on LTG... If they every bring out LTP my guess it would be app 28k SC to make the grade... And I would have to guess they would have a rule of how much QF would have to be in the that mix

My apologies if this has been covered before on these forums but I have looked and haven't seen anyone state the answer to what I am going to ask.

I have been Life time gold with Qantas since 2010 and have kept and held either Platinum and Platinum one in the last few years.
My membership expire date just passed at December 31 and for 2015 i didn't fly a lot due to some medical issues and only racked up
615 status credits.
My account has had all last year status credits removed and is displaying my current membership status as Platinum and there is a message on my account saying congratulations for retaining platinum for the next year.

My question is, If you are LTG and only rack up 600 status credits in the year, is this enough to retain Platinum? Because it seems so from my account.
And I can't find a thing about it on the qantas website.

Sounds more like you have been comped under a 3 year average of status credits if your previous years were WP.

3 year average or soft landing from P1 (if 2013-2014 membership year was >3600) - though I suspect 3 year average.

enjoy - hopefully medical issues behind you and you can return to the skies!

Neither the 3 year average or soft landings are officially published benefits, although they can happen from time to time. Although, if you were P1 the year before, even based on the 3 year average (3600 / 3 = 1200), you would be WP under either one of these conditions.

I'm going to be 20 short of maintaining WP until 9 days before my year ends (and it will be on a partner airline) so it will be interesting whether I get comped before then, having maintained a 3 year average >1200.

My experience last year was that I was re-confirmed as Platinum about a month out despite not at that stage reaching 1200 or having flights reaching 1200 booked. I would have made it calculated under the 3 year average so not sure if that is why but I did end up going past 1200 regardless.

Yay - finally, LTG after 13 QFF years, although most SC earn in past four years. Recently had one year at WP1 - the more than occasional complimentary Op Ups were an extremely appreciated Plat 1 Team gesture during my WP1 year - many special thanks to QF for that. For a techo neanderthal, I have discovered the My Travels "Flight Map" and am slowly populating those historical flights.
