My wife has a flt in a few months time flying from London Heathrow to Seville transiting through Madrid. She's flying with IBERIA and holds an EU passport. The flight from LHR would I presume be considered an "international" flight and then the flight from Madrid to Seville, domestic.

Does anyone know if when checking in at LHR she can check her luggage all the way through to Seville or does she have to collect it at Madrid and go through Immigration & Customs and then re-check it for the domestic flight to Seville?

I think your wife will be able to check her luggage through to Seville.

I don't have personal experience with entry into Spain but I think it is the same throughout the EU. I have never experienced an issue checking luggage through from SYD-ATH-SKG.
