I'm looking at business MEL-LHR-OSL on QF

Booking on-line for the business sale and saver fares, the LHR-OSL flight using BA will be in economy.

Do I have access to the BA lounge (a shower is what I want) on the basis of the QF MEL-LHR business ticket and I'm in transit?
(I no longer have any QF status.)

But if I use SK for LHR-OSL, the flight will be in "premium economy" according to QF on-line booking.
Now SK don't have premium economy for this flight, only Go or Plus.
So is the premium economy the same as Plus?

As far as I can see, Plus gives me Star Alliance lounge access.
(I've also lost status with AirNZ, so lounge access is not available that way.)

Thanks

You'd get access to the oneworld lounges if it was QF J connecting to short haul BA Y. Information below:

First and Business Class customers connecting on the same day of travel, or before 6am the following day, can access the lounge when travelling between an international long haul (a oneworld international long haul flight is defined as an international flight marketed and operated by any oneworld carrier with a scheduled flight time longer than 5 hours) and an international short haul or domestic flight (and vice-versa).

It's worth noting that most QF J connecting in LHR to BA book into BA J so it seems odd that only economy is appearing (either sold out or something else is happening).

Regarding the "premium economy" that Qantas tells you is actually a SAS Plus Fare (Qantas books business class connections into a Plus Fare Pro / J class where available) .

That Plus fare does get you access to the Star Alliance lounges in Heathrow which include UA, SQ, LH and AC.

Either way both the BA (in Y or J) or the SK (in "Premium Economy") will get you lounge access in Heathrow.

Welcome to AFF!

With SAS, the Plus fare does normally give you lounge access. As far as the on-board product goes, you basically get a seat at the front of the plane (no blocked middle seat, as is common for intra-Europe business class) and a better meal. So premium economy is probably an accurate description of Plus, assuming that's what you'd be booked onto.

Thanks for the replies.
If I use BA I'll take a printed copy of the oneworld rules in case there's an issue at the BA lounge in LHR.
I initially thought the BA economy was a Qantas cost-saving, but maybe it's just what BA has available for Qantas on those particular flights.
It really doesn't matter re seats as both BA and SK are essentially economy for the whole plane.
I just want a shower at LHR.

Yeh BA should know however you should keep your QF inbound boarding pass and present both at the lounge. QF obviously have no idea about the rules...

Looking at other dates it books into BA Business so it could just be the the BA flight sold out in Business class booking categories
