LH Baggage at FRA question

We are about to fly LH778 - FRA to SIN early next week then SQ 217 to MEL the day after. As the LH is an evening flight and we are staying at FRA airport the night before, can we check our bags early in the day (say 1200) and then return later with just carry-on? I would assume this is possible but just checking with the knowledgeable team at AFF.

Could I check some bags straight to MEL while collecting others in SIN and re-checking them the next morning. Both flights on separate bookings but referenced together by our Krisflyer numbers.

My understanding with LH is that you can check your bags early, however all bags need to be checked the same way; I.e. All to SIN or all to MEL. You can always ask, LH can be helpful when they want to be, especially in their hub and if you're flying Business. If in Economy, they're much less helpful.

Great, so that's why you're on separate tickets then... As LH F and SQ F cannot be ticketed together on direct flights to Australia (except in a couple of unusual circumstances).

Go to the First Class Terminal at FRA and they will sort you out. Don't go to the regular terminal.

Enjoy LH F, it's definitely one of the best F products out there.

Yes, we want to use the First Class Terminal but it is hard to get there with bags but no car. So the plan is to drop bags at normal terminal check in, go to town by train (there is a Monet exhibition on at the moment) then get a cab to the FCT to try that experience for the first time.
