Hi all,

I have researched this issue extensively, but I was hoping that someone on this forum will have some further insights.

As my title suggests I would like shower access at LAX. Flying on Delta (but pretty sure it's a Virgin plane), I am a frequent flyer member on both Delta and Virgin, but not yet a 'special' member on either.

My options (after my research):
- Delta lounge access ($50) - issue with this is that my layover is under 3 hours, so I won't use a lot of the facilities and I can't really justify a $50 shower.
- Airport hotel - similar price and not sure if I'll get back on time
- Not shower...

Just wondering if there is an option 4? Is there any chance of Delta offering me a free lounge pass?

Thanks in advance!

You will be lucky on some days to clear customs, have a shower, reclear security in 3 hours at LAX.

DL are very unlikely to offer you lounge access without VA status. I think you will just have to hope you have an understanding passenger next to you on the subsequent flight!

haha. It's more of a consideration for the people picking me up at the airport.

Thanks for your response though

Did my research this morning on lax showers if you can't access a lounge.

Cheapest option outside the terminals is 24 hour fitness gym - take the 5 min shuttle to Crowne plaza lax - gym is in 2nd floor of building just next door, $10 entry, $8 to buy a towel or bring your own, shower and locker room "fine" but definitely not glamorous. Suggest you bring a padlock if you want to lock your carry-on while you have a shower and/or workout. Crowne plaza then good for a cheap coffee/snack from the bakery.

Next cheapest is is day rate of $59 for Travelodge lax - only from 9am, Denny's restaurant next door. Looked basic.

Then hilton lax day rate is $89. A nice hotel.

All have have free shuttles to/from terminals that take < 10 minutes once they turn up, though you have to ring for Travelodge.
