I like the Holiday Inn near LAX:

9901 La Cienega Blvd
Los Angeles, CA 90045
(310) 649-5151

They have decent rates and ok rooms...good enough for business travel IMO.

I agree. I was just there the a few weeks ago with them in the middle of a complete overhaul. I was in a new premium room which was very spacious, and once the hotel is fully completed, it'll be great. I think I only paid about $70 a night too!

It's not a bad hotel, just a bit far from LAX (near the 405 freeway). I recently paid USD 49 + taxes for a night in May through Priceline.

Even better (and a nicer hotel), I paid USD 47 a night for the LAX Radisson for a few nights in July.

It intrigues me that more people don't use priceline.com. It can save heaps!

Two suggestions:
1. I had recent experience at the Doubletree at El Segundo. Less than 10 minutes from LAX by free shuttle. Three star. Excellent value for money. Book through expedia dot com for a good rate.
2. While at the expedia site, hit the "Hot Wire" button and try there. As they say, "Four star hotel for two star price" ... and it's true. You don't know which hotel you are going to get, but they give you a description, and if they have a free shuttle then you know it will be close enough.

Good luck.

Many people on these types of forums, including me, prefer to spend much more to gain status so they can get upgraded to bigger rooms, get free breakfast and stay out all night anyway....

Radisson LAX for $US47 is good

but for me, its not as good as my upcoming Westin LAX $US64 rate where they will reward me with bonus points worth a bit over $US105 ;)

OH btw, booking through priceline and hotwire can be very beneficial to some.
