Hi. Any good tips or traps to know about for getting from QF93 arriving LAX to AA1928 going to SFO. Is it a Terminal change and how is best way to do that? Will only have carry-on bags. Thanks

QF93 arrives at Tom Bradley International terminal (TBIT) so you need to clear immigration and customs there. When exiting TBIT customs, turn right and follow the signs for connecting flights. Exit TBIT onto the footpath and turn right and walk around to terminal 4.

AA1928 departs from Terminal 4. Go up the escalator to the check-in level and collect boarding pass (if you don't already have one). Then up the escalator to departure level and through security screening.

Its a lot less painful than everybody seems to think it is.
If thats one of the early morning arriving QF flights then when i transited a couple of weeks ago it was not all that busy either.

Its about a 5 min walk from TBIT to T4 which helps to get the blood moving after sitting so long. When I was there in May, there was a lot of building work going on at TBIT, but you didn't see it until you left the arrivals area.
It will depends on what else arrives as to how long it takes to clear immigration at LAX.

Walk it, LAX is surprisingly easy to walk between terminals and always good to do in the Californian sun after a long flight.

Last time I did a transfer at LAX was with a wheel chair bound work mate, a breez even for him.

Very easy! Not a long walk at all, sans baggage!

Take the lift to the checkin area or escalators.

My biggest hurdle was getting on that old MD80 a/c that they use to SFO! Shocking flight, seated in row 32, with a window view of the engine!

At least you would be first to know about any engine issues :!::rolleyes:

Has your hearing recovered yet :?:

The engines were making a constant (LOUD) revving noise, my lawnmower has a smoother sound - had my hands covering my ears most of the flight with my eyes closed, whilst I hummed to myself!

The only saving grace I had was when I saw the planes that they fly to San Jose (which was another option for me) Made the MD80 look good!!

If it was an AA one, did you go blind from the sub reflecting off it? I think I had 3rd degree sunburn by the time we landed in SFO!

Well I had my eyes closed most of the flight and I was in the aisle with my colleague in the centre seat and a poor unfortunate pax next to window. Thank goodness the stranger didn't have to go to the toilet during the flight.

I will never forget the FA (and I don't mean to offend anyone), but he looked like he was from a sheltered workshop.
