LATAM arrival SCL to EZE different ticket check thru luggage

I have been told by LATAM that my luggage does not get checked thru from international to EZE. that I have to collect and re check in
Im on a CX J award then paid premium to EZE
I even wrote to the LATAM rep who would not give me a definitive answer
also coming back from CUZ to SCL connecting to SYD
