LATAM Airlines will resume non-stop Sydney-Santiago flights

Daily:
Interesting as well that they have fully uncoupled AKL and SYD, removing one of the cheaper ways to get across the Tasman.

And looks like SCL-MEL will become daily from December.

Dropping the AKL-SYD stub will mean some of the challenges it causes will be avoided, once my AKL stopover became an extended transit because the crew to staff the AKL-SYD leg hadn't had sufficient rest time from their previous flight, another time the whole plane had to be rebooked onto alternate flights because on arrival into AKL, they cancelled the onward SYD flight.

Looks like SCL-AKL-SYD 7/7 has become

SCL-SYD 7/7
SCL-AKL 3/7
SCL-MEL 4/7 then seasonal 7/7

Good capacity boost to Sth America.

I’m guess they are rebooking anyone who just had a TT flight on QF instead?

Not surprising LATAM cancelled Sydney-Auckland. (In my experience) Despite the plane, the service in Business was appalling. For the lunch service I received two chocolate muffins, a packet of nuts and three pieces of cut fruit. They ignored me most of the flight and only selectively offered a pre departure beverage to certain individuals in certain rows (that didn't include me). I spoke to the CSM in Auckland, who couldn't have given less of a shxt...

What a shame! I’m not sure which airline the commenter above was flying on but it was certainly not the same LATAM I’ve always flown on: It was such a good alternative over to Auckland and we have used it many times!

Recently, you even got the chance for one of their upgraded seats which are amongst the best staggered configs out there and J food on the Syd-Akl leg had improved too (last time I had this lovely steak pictured below). And I had always liked their Latina service and South American wines which was a bit different from all the other airlines out there.
