I couldn't find any thread about this on AFF, so here's the news: Caesars reverses, adds resort fee to Las Vegas hotels. Been in effect from 01 March 2013.

Here’s what comes up when you go to book direct at Planet Hollywood ($20 daily resort fee):
The daily resort fee provides you with a comprehensive bundle of amenities, including:

  • Internet service for one device
  • Fitness center access for two
  • Free local calls

The following daily resort fee will be charged to you in two parts; one day will be charged at the completion of this purchase and the rest will be charged to you at check-in.
Please note: the daily resort fee may be waived for certain Total Rewards members.

One device? That’s just plain cruel!

Caesars is still one of the great resorts in Vegas so don't be put off by a fee.
If you don't lose gambling then this one is really very good.

Same thing applies to properties that have been charging resort fees since long ago - some of them are great too. It may or may not affect people's decision to stay there... Although, since this has only just been introduced, there may be a whole bunch of people caught out, not realising the fee was mandatory until check-in / check-out.

One Wifi connection at a time that is cough.

Apart from that I would still stay there.

To me it is a bit like a fuel surcharge for an airline.

Just stay somewhere else. I personally would prefer the Venetian and the Palazzo next to it over any of Harrah's properties:p

I stayed there last month and queried wifi access at check in - it was $27 per 24hrs PER DEVICE! So the 'resort fee' is actually a discount on the previous charging however now having no choice is a downer - had to happen with every other resort charging it.

I actually found the Vegas resorts some of the most expensive places in the USA on my recent trip - it really paid to eat, drink and shop outside the properties.
