Hi there,

I am new and this is my first post.
Wondering if anyone has any ideas re best connections Perth-Luang Prabang.
I am QF gold, so prefer QF or partners.

Basically you are not going to get a QF codeshare into Luang Prabang. We flew Vietnam airlines Siem Reap tp LP and bangkok air LP to BKK.Of those Bangkok Air was far better. So need to find the best way to get PER-BKK.

I connected through Vientiane and then onto the local Lao carrier to LP. Stayed at the Villa Santi which was great but hear there is a better alternative now. Did a boat trip down the Mekong and saw the Buddhist temples in caves in the sides of the river. Wonderful trip. Apologies for the unsolicited tourist tips.

Thanks for the tips....will definately have a look at Bangkok air.
The boat trip sounds like a great idea. How long does it take?

Welcome to AFF rothesaylass!

I am going to try and venture over to Laos and possibly Luang Prabang on my April/May 2012 trip to Thailand. The silk over there is supposedly much better quality than the silk available in northern Thailand. I think I may do a bus trip across Isaan to Nong Khai and then see how to go over the border from there.
