A few from the hotel, then back to the airport, drop the car off and take another Air Asia flight, this one back to Kota Kinabalu, no problems with the flight, nor the service, meal was the pasta again, don't know why they bother on such a short flight.
Had views of Mount Kinabalu.

One night back at the Mercure, very early start in the morning, Malaysian to KL, then Singapore and finally QF82 to Sydney, upstairs at the back in 32 J and K, it's annoying when they say we will arrive early, then of course air traffic control says "nah", do some circles first.

Some good SC's from the KL to KK return flight, but nothing on the KL to Singapore leg.

Lounge in Singapore was serving Billy's Shadow and 19 Crimes, shameful imo, you can buy Billy's Shadow in the dozen for $6.50 a bottle and the Crimes about double that. Anyway the food and beer were good, not to many "listen to me" types sprouting how important they are on their mobiles and skype etc.

Late into Sydney and across to domestic, no time to visit the lounge, Dash 8 was on time and I didn't realise it was a public holiday in Canberra, there were about 10 people on the plane, very unusual for a Monday morning, our bags were first out.

Sunset from the bar at the Mecure was worth it, I'd love to be there witnessing a good electrical storm.

Very happy with Sabah, would happily go again, but not to Sandakan, also renting a car is easy and cheap, just make sure you have a decent map or GPS.

Next time I'd also make sure we went to one of the river lodges.

I have to admit as to being very surprised by the quality of all the airports we used in Malaysia, we could learn a lot from them, they were clean, spacious, no being forced to zigzag through duty free shops, not that keen on the squat toilets, but there are sit ones as well.

Malaysian lounges in the smaller airports were also fine.

So, good trip all in all, happily go back to both, already booked Luang Prabang again, can't get enough of Laos!
