Ohh well so much for a good excuse for a status fun run. I will just have to wait for Air NZ's delivery

Air New Zealand has eight 787-9 aircraft on firm order with delivery of the first initially expected around the end of 2010, with all aircraft delivered by late 2013.
The delivery of the first aircraft is now likely in early 2012.

In SMH last Sat there was an interesting article on Virgins new route to Jo'berg from Mel. It will take and extra two hours vs QF's 747 on the route as they need to comply with ETOPs 180. But VA still beleive that its better than flying MEL SYD then onto Jo'berg.

Ok if your in J but an extra 2 hours in whY even if it is V's would not make me like the idea:arrow:

LAN Details 787 Deliveries, Drops Four 767s

LAN Airlines confirms it will not be adding four Boeing 767-300ERs ordered in 2008 as a stopgap for delayed 787s.

The carrier placed the order when delays to the Boeing 787 program pushed its delivery slots into 2014. However, last month LAN announced a deal with the U.S. airframer that gave the South American operator 10 delivery slots from the first half of 2011 through 2013 (DAILY, March 26).

At the time, neither the carrier nor Boeing would comment on the 767s scheduled for 2012, but in a new fleet plan issued as part of its first-quarter results LAN indicates it will operate 28 767-300ERs next year, and add just two more in 2011. The 767 fleet remains at 31 aircraft throughout the remainder of the forecast, which details fleet plans to 2018.

Supplier Parts Shortage Slows 787 Line

As the 22nd 787 enters final body join on the assembly line in Everett, Wash., Boeing says it will delay receiving wing and fuselage sections until early June as some of its suppliers struggle with parts shortages.

The delay will last for 24 manufacturing days (the average is 22 per month), affect the 23rd and 24th aircraft, and should consume all of May. Final assembly work is underway on Aircraft 19-22.
