In the past, I have made bookings with (Air) NZ and done OLCI with them, as a VFF member.
Ignoring Status Bonus, being able to do OLCI is a good plus to fly NZ.

The ironic thing is that I'm on NZ issued ticket, on an VA operated flight.
As much as I try to avoid VA on the Tasman, thanks to the NZ/VA Tasman Alliance you can't avoid it at times. For example the 0630 AKL-MEL service is operated by VA, the first NZ service is at 0825 which is an 77W.
Its one of those either lose half a day on NZ123 but only have to turn up 60minutes before the flight or keep most of the day and take VA149.
