Yes another no-news article but I thought it might be interesting especially noting the recent thread about an abusive passenger on another airline.

A HONG Kong airline is making all its cabin crew take kung fu lessons to help them to deal with drunk and unruly passengers. Hong Kong Airlines said all staff had been invited to undergo training in wing chun - a form of kung fu used in close-range combat - but it was only compulsory for cabin crew, the Sunday Morning Post reported.

Hopefully they won't need to use it very often.

Also, I just love the names some Hong Kongers have,
New recruit Lumpy Tang, 22, said she never imagined kung fu would be part of the job.

HK Air staff to go all Jackie Chan on unruly pax

Well, I don't like your chances if you get on the wrong side of these crews and their wing chun skills....

HONG KONG - A HONG Kong airline is making all its cabin crew take kung fu lessons to help them to deal with drunk and unruly passengers.

Hong Kong Airlines said all staff had been invited to undergo training in wing chun - a form of kung fu used in close-range combat - but it was only compulsory for cabin crew, the Sunday Morning Post reported.

The airline had around three incidents involving disruptive passengers every week, said Eva Chan, the carrier's deputy general manager of corporate communication.

I read about this the other day, thought it was a little odd, but as it’s already successfully been used, it’s paid off.
