From where to where ?
Australia to EU/UK is 141k for a saver, and it was 130k

The issue seems to be a big lack of saver awards now though

Thought that’s been the case for a long time. There aren’t any saver awards. Ponying up for ‘Advantage’ means you are likely to get the redemption. I’ve never found saver - assuming SQ put through a price rise with Advantage but still hold out the slim prospect of ‘saver’ fares so it’s not blindingly obvious what they’ve done. That’s my 2 cents worth anyway. YMMV.

No I booked 3 X J savers MEL FRA MEL for August 2026 recently..

But since the new redemption rates started there are far less now.

Exactly This.... and more and more I look paid J fares on some airlines (in our case MH, Sri Lankan) are on par with points earned on manufactured spend.

J saver is getting harder and harder to find. WLs never in my experience get confirmed...only Advantage avail and that is where the massive devaluation of the program is!

As a side note: SIN KF J lounge at T3 last Friday evening had no free seats avail around 10pm so we walked out! A380 (Sq 231) to Syd in J was packed...asked for a glass of water when welcome onboard drinks were offered, and they suggested the water bottle by seat...WTF! Sent feedback to Sq...let's see if they respond.

My last J flight to Hkg on Qf had better service and that is saying alot!

The real lack of J saver award seats scares me! I don't have many KF miles left having burnt lots on March 4 x MLE-SIN-MEL and August 2026 1 x MEL-FRA-MEL flights.

I have had little trouble booking J Savers for up to 4 people for years, but now it seems the game has changed.

The grass is not greener elsewhere as getting J or F using QF points on EK is pretty much gone now.

As long as the Amex Plat card keeps the solid J discounts up I'm happy

Everything goes up at some point. I just looked and could book MEL - LHR Oct26 in J saver for 141,000 miles. That's only 10,500 increase and there is availability for 2 pax. Not happy with the increase but its not the end of the world

Certainly has - there’s some big increases in business to Europe.

Perth - London Advantage J seems to have gone from 237k to 320k return.

Access points is mental - 464k. As @Cruiser Elite rightly says - the party seems to be over....

I checked some random routes between SIN and Europe yesterday… SQ’s availability on star alliance seems to be quite a bit off compared to say aeroplan and united.

So not only is there an increase in points, but alternatives can be few and far between.

(as an aside, found some limited SQ availability MEL-SIN on SQ for June 2026, didn’t check other dates)

I was looking 6 weeks ago at MEL to Europe in May - June. At least a few dates with 2 seats MEL-SIN. Also ADL AND BNE as options were there. Back then I could get onwards to CDG, LHR and MAN, but nowhere else. They dried up as the devaluation got closer. I still see the odd days with MEL-SIN availability eg. 23 May.

Think Iam going to wait and see how spontaneous escapes go in future and just do late notice trips.....noting that they haven't been great for Oz or onward Europe in the past year or 2

Sq231 is one of those short overnight flights where they prefer to have people sleeping than full service and has been like that for years. They suggested bottled water by the seat to me when I asked for water at the start of the flight (in J). I gladly accepted as I prefer to then go to sleep quickly and no unnecessary waking up due to the FAs serving other people in middle of flight, and if I then need more water I just grab my bottled water instead.

PPS members should definitely have a lot more leverage in this regard.

Not sure about Saver, but sometimes it's not a case of Saver vs Advantage (vs Access), it's just is there any availability at all (unless you have cash to pay).

Having talked to someone in the Suites cabin when I was fortunate to find a seat on that flight (Advantage, of course), they seem to imply that Suites seats on points are much easier for PPS members to access, which sometimes can result in no more award seats being available for the rest of the members for days at times.

The SQ lounges would be absolutely slammed at that time of night - all the late night departures to Europe, North Asia and Australia, with the widebodies and all - definitely peak traffic well until after midnight. Even TPR, while obviously not as ridiculous, would be quite heavy in traffic (i.e. no luck getting a sleeping room; may even be really busy trying to get a shower).

If J was packed on that flight, then I guess SQ must be thinking they're doing something right (viz 100% load factor, particularly with that many J seats).

Agree in general with limited J Saver avail. Much more slim pickings compared to 12 mths ago. Hopefully loosens up...

I did some searches last night for late Oct 2026. For Europe out of MEL.
FRA and LHR avail ok but limited.
CDG limited
ZHR MUC MXP FCO essentially none.
IST nothing

Air India J an option tho...

Of course these are the destinations with more daily flights and bigger aircraft so makes sense avail better.

I actually found Europe via Doha on QR with Vel FF was more avail in general for most of above. And even saw some Vel redpt in SQ albeit limited.
