I’m flying Korean Airlines next week to Europe and have the free night stop over in Seoul (couldnt beat the return price of $1,100! total cost), I get there at 5pm and leave the next day at 2pm, hotel and all is included with the flight (Airport Hotel I assume).

But I was wondering, has anyone done it before and do you know any tours or something that would do trips into Seoul for the short time (similar to when you are in Singapore airport for more than 5 hours they give you a free tour around Singapore).

Is there anything like that for Korea (doesn’t have to be free) but I’d like something that could get me from the airport/hotel into Seoul for a little day trip or something, I’m there for such a short time and on my own that I don't want to spend it trying to work public transport etc so I’d rather a little tour thing.

Any ideas?

Also, I usually fly Qantas, but in this case they just couldn’t beat the price. Never been Korean Air, anyone have anything nice or bad to say about them? – my first leg has TV’s in the back of the seats, but second leg doesn’t.

Cheers.

Hopefully QF009 can post some info as I'm sure he's mentioned being in Korea before, and wanting to go back. No doubt he'll have some ideas for places to visit, if not tours to take you there.

From Incheon airport there are buses to everywhere around Seoul city,
including all the tourist spots, for example the palaces and the "muns" ...

check wikitravel or any guide book...

for buses
Korea Public Transportation Guide

and of course you can catch a taxi, they are generally high quality, and the driver can / will call the station for translator as they generally can't speak english...

I did it but never bothered to leave the hotel. They put you up (or did 2 years ago) at the Hyatt and cover all meals while you're there so it's quite a good deal.

If they put you up in Seoul (rather than at the airport) it would be great. Otherwise you could conceivably go into town early in the morning for a look around, or have a late evening.

I've used KAL operated "limousine" buses to get into and out of Seoul. Link here KAL LIMOUSINE
