Korea F5 Permanent Residency Loss and Renewal

I'm sure that this won't be relevant for many, but if you have lost your Korean permanent residency due to not visiting Korea I the last few years you might be able to recover it.

I needed to provide an apostilled criminal record check, show a housing contract and pay ₩200,000 for the residency plus ₩30,000 for the new ID card.

The immigration officer said it would take a month but when they found out I was leaving at the end of the next week, they processed the renewal in 4 days.

The ID card will take longer but at least I have permanent residency again and will ensure I visit more often although if the boss has her way, my next visit may be quite a long one.
