I'm not looking for flight search advice so I think this belongs here (if not, by all means please move/delete).

I'm looking at flights KHH-HKG in mid Jan 13. CX/KA have nothing available in Y for less than $400 one-way. Even China Airlines is sitting around the $250 mark.

This seems very steep for an intra-asian flight thats only 412 miles long. Does anyone know why this might be?

Not sure why, but these kinds of flights are a good way to burn QFF points!

market forces...its the same from TPE, although these are really short flights the legacy carriers are able to extract some decent revenue from them, that's even with lower cost players in the market.

may be best on a one-way to go with an award redemption or even look at a J fare going somewhere long haul instead (eg KHH-HKG-PER)
