Hi SQ experts, I've a bit of travel dilemma this year as I've already hit the PPS value required to renew yet have flown relatively very little miles in comparison to other years. Usually, these actual 'miles' once I hit SQ renewal would be flown on Oneworld so I can renew DM with CX but I'm seriously doubting whether I could hit the 120k this year before the deadline.

So I'm thinking of just ditching the CX program altogether (not by choice, but by circumstance) and crediting everything to *A, thinking of banking the points to OZ so that I could hit 500k over the next few years for their lifetime *A gold status.

Thus instead of claiming outright award tickets with SQ for personal holidays, I'm actually thinking of doing a paid revenue booking and upgrading that to F or J (which I've never done for whole itineraries before) using KF miles to hit this 500k faster.

I know that for *A upgrades with KF miles, you can only request them on a 'per sector' basis. Does anyone know if this is the case with SQ flights as well?

I guess my main question is if I was to book something like SYD-SIN-LHR, could I then apply the upgrade for both sectors as a single deduction (i.e. at the AUS-EUR rates)? And if the upgrades can be applied to both sectors at once time, how do they interact with any stopovers already booked into the itinerary?
