President Nursultan Nazarbayev has confirmed that 10 more countries have been included in Kazakhstan's the VISA free policy.
Investors in Kazakhstan will now be able to install foreign employees without the need to secure formal permissions to do so. On top of that, we have successfully set in motion a VISA free regime for investors for the following 10 countries: USA, Netherlands, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Malaysia, United Arab Emirates, Republic of Korea and Japan. We also plan to expand this list by 10 more countries, Switzerland, Spain, Belgium, Hungary, Monaco, Singapore, Australia, Norway, Sweden and Finland.

Australia will be in the next round agreement. Maybe helpful to those AFF'ers using rewards programs for unusual routings through countries like Kazakhstan. ;)

Tell 'em Borat sent you.

Popular decisions like this show why the President was elected with 97.7% of the vote last election!

Thanks! I'm planning to do Kazakhstan and the other Stans next May ... hope they hurry up! Cost to get visas done via an 'organised' service (embassy for K and all the other Stans in is Japan) is about $300 plus consular fee of about $150  .

No Visa required for Georgia on an Aussie passport RooFlyer and an interesting country worth a visit. Not the stans I know but just incase you ever wondered.

Going to Georgia this October :). Also Azerbaijan, which has moved to eVisa, although a letter of invitation still required.

My itinerary is now in place, but any tips for restaurants or wineries still welcome - maybe you could post here. Tehuringa has also chipped in here .

Oh, happy days :)

This just in from the DFAT smarttraveller advisory service and web site:

From 16 July 2015, Australians visiting Kazakhstan for stays of up to 15 days will not require a visa. For stays exceeding 15 days, Australians must obtain the appropriate visa for the purpose of their visit, especially if travelling on a long-term business or work trip. Check the validity dates for your visa and associated restrictions before travelling. Penalties for visa infringements or overstaying include fines, imprisonment and deportation. Kazakhstan is strict about its visa policies.

That's two of the 5 Stans 'down' - c'mon the rest :) .
