KA HKG Connection - Do I have enough time?

Hey there,

This Thursday I am flying PVG-HKG-TPE on KA. I'm heading to TPE to take advantage of KA's Business Class sale - so from Friday to Monday I will doing my first dedicated status run.:mrgreen:

The two flights were not booked together.
PVG - HKG is in J and lands at HKG at 11:05.
HKG - TPE is in N and departs at 12:05.

At the time I was confident that I should be able to connect o.k but now I am getting worried that my checked luggage won't make it to TPE. As I'm leaving TPE the following day I can't really afford to lose it.

Basically should I book a later flight to TPE?
Oh, and I assume that when i check-in at PVG on Thursday I will be able to check in to my flight to TPE?

Finally got onto DragonAir.
For the record, their minimum connection time is 1/2 an hour.

1hr is definitely achievable at HKG.

I am aware that CX offer connections of around 45 minutes on their website.

I have done one of these, and made it very easily, even in the middle of the swine flu hysteria!

We have had about 4 connections on CX at HKG that were between 45-60 minutes.Made them all.Did have to sort of run once when came in at gate 2 and left from 68.Luggage always made it as well.

If the arrival flight is on time, 60 mins is sufficient for HKG connection.

Your flights show as a valid connection, so the airline also believes its ok.

A one hour connection is very easy at HKG. I've done a connection from KA to VS (ie a non-alliance connection) including collecting a boarding pass in 20 mins.

An excellent airport to connect through - especially as they have some damned fine lounges!

Your luggage will make it to the connecting flight; however if walking from one end of the airport to the other - you might struggle

We were twenty minutes late getting to HKG.
I'm currently in TPE waiting for my bags to be delivered
