Sigh :(

I status matched for Silver just over a month ago, but last week on 29 September I flew my last flight to qualify for Gold on Qantas. The status match program of course ended on the 30th, by which time I didn't yet have proof of my Gold status.
Looks like I'm going to be flying Qantas, which is a pity because I was looking forward to switching to Virgin and I'm flying quite a bit nowadays.
 
If you are happy with Qantas stay with Qantas, but don't let your status with another airline deter you from trying a different product or leaving if you are not happy.

I'm not necessarily unhappy with Qantas, but I have flown a bit with Virgin and would have liked to fly more with them. However the benefits of gold status over silver status means I'm less likely to unless necessary.
