I was looking to book a weekend trip to visit family in Newcastle and I noticed that from Dec 11th the JQ479 service drops from daily to twice-weekly, through to the end of January when it becomes 5-times weekly - while at the same time a daily JQ475 has been added flying out at 0820.
I'm fairly sure this is the first time I recall JQ479 being dropped for the summer - presumably a measure to free up a plane for busier routes during the school holiday - is anyone else able to confirm?
Quite a pity as this is the latest flight from NTL - MEL by a good few hours, as it stands we'd have to start making our way to the NTL airport around 1pm on a Sunday, basically losing half a day of a weekend away.
