JQ to launch 3D advertising

Anyone here got a 3D TV? I saw this posed on Twitter, and thought they might announce a sale that way. Would be brilliant!

As for 3D images, there are quite a few music videos on Channel [V] at the moment that just require the older 3D glasses to view, and not a new TV, so big deal :p

I’d love to see one in action though to see what all the fuss is about.

I have seen 3D in the shops and watched it briefly. I will be waiting a few years though as my current TV is only 3 years old so mrs ejb will not be approving any new purchases anytime soon.

Until there is a lot of content it seems to be a waste of money.

I could check online, but…

Is the 3D also HD?

Following on from what you said, there’s not much (if any really) 3D content available to justify it, but there’s also not a heck of a lot of HD content yet either, so neither new standard is that hot. And by saying there’s not a lot of HD content I am referring to the many channels of Foxtel that are SD. The market isn’t there yet.

I have just ordered Foxtel IQ2 with all the HD channels so I am looking forward to this new experience.

3D at the moment is very limited. I have yet to see many titles and from media reports the biggest uptake has been in the cough industry.

I wonder if customs will get new TV's to watch the DVD's as they come in to the country.;)

We just spent a kings ransom on a new LG LCD, I can't see the budget allowing for a 3D tv as much as the idea gets a double thumbs up from me...

Mr!

Mr!

3d while interesting, in my opinion is over rated. (and now we nearly all have flat screens we can junk those and get another new TV )

I'd rather spend my money on a trip and get the 3d experience by actually being there in person.

Good luck flying to Pandora ;)

So, in a few years when we all have 3D sets, what new technology will they come up with then? How will TV sets handle the 4th Dimension, or will we just go straight to smell-a-vision? :p
