Hi all

Perhaps I have missed out on an earlier thread on this topic, but a few recent attempts on both the QF and JQ sites to book my favourite JQ 35 SYD-MEL flight and do a bit of Flounging seem to reveal that the flight no longer exists.

Say it isn't so.

Just for clarity JQ1 is the 1PM flight that flies SYD-MEL-HNL? And JQ35 is MEL-SYD-DPS?

I always liked JQ 35 because it was a 3pm departure. Great for a long lunch in the Flounge.

Not such a fan of the other JQ flights that depart from the international terminal earlier (9am, 11.15am and 1pm) as I can't get stuck into the wine without raising a few eyebrows!

JQ1 is indeed SYD-MEL-HNL.

JQ35 is SYD-MEL-DPS. JQ36 is DPS-MEL-SYD.

Really? I've never had eyebrows raised.

I can assure you I will certainly be enjoying some champagne with breakfast on my next flight out of there in two weeks (8:40am departure)

To be fair it would be difficult to see raised eyebrows when you are looking up at the ceiling swallowing the whole glass*.......:p :p

*Posted from experience!

Thanks Tony I needed the laugh :)

What are you doing having breakfast with champagne? Champagne is breakfast! Of course I'd raise my eyebrows if I saw that!

One of the easiest ways to find the flight(s) during a week is to use the Qantas Timetable search (Plan --> Timetable).

Select your From/To, Weekly Timetable and selecting the Wednesday of the week you are viewing will give you the full week Sunday - Saturday. Scroll down until you find a JQ(<400) number and then go to the Jetstar site to book (or call to Price match ;)).

I just go to Google and type (for example) "flights syd to mel".

You then get results that look like this:

Agree the Google search engine for flights is great. I use it all the time for other purposes, but for finding flights past the next few weeks accurately, Google is not so good.

Google only shows up the latest iteration of schedule changes -- see the line just above the first 6:00am flight, "Valid through 16 Jan". Using the Qantas timetable search engine should improve the accuracy if you are looking past a few weeks.

JQ1 is the SYD-MEL 13:00 flight on Saturdays

It stops at the end of April but then JQ35 starts SYD-MEL 15:00 on Saturdays on the 22nd of June

All seems to be fine to me !

Sorry to drag up an old thread, but the JQ 3 route from MEL-SYD on a Monday arvo at 2.35pm is my new favourite. At least 2 hours of Flounging in MEL and then you get into the Sydney CBD just in time for the exec lounge to open up for business at your CBD hotel of choice.

Plus Jetstar has been selling fares for $49 this week. Super!
