On Saturday 6 September 2025 there was trackwork between Perth and Kalgoorlie that necessitated the 'Indian Pacific' train (operated by Journey Beyond, owned by a private equity New York USA company) only operating Sydney-Adelaide-Kalgoorlie and return.

Passengers for the Sunday morning departure from Kalgoorlie travelled in chartered planes on Saturday, departing at about 1230 hours from PER to Kalgoorlie (or the other way).

For Platinum passengers booked on the 'IP' ex Kal, an F100 with 105 seats had just 26 passengers.

Was this VH-FNR or do I have the incorrect operator? FR24 draws a blank.

You'll probably need to get this moved to Qantas.

Please note: this is unofficial, just my own detective work/deduction.

On Saturday, 6th September QantasLink ran the following:

QF2780 PER-KGI then QF2781 KGI-PER - an A320, namely VH-VQZ (perhaps for the non-plats?)

QF2782 PER-KGI then QF2783 KGI-PER - an F100, namely VH-NHQ
