I'm arriving at JNB with South African in J before transferring to a SA J domestic flight. Arriving at the international terminal at 5am, I have access to the SA Arrivals Lounge. The domestic flight leaves at 7am from the domestic terminal, where I have access to the VIA Platinum Lounge.

Has anyone any experience with either or both of these lounges? I'd like a shower and I note both have these. Any recommendations welcome. (I also have access to the Priority Pass Lounges if these are any better.)

Many thanks in advance.

I thought I would answer my own question to leave a record here for anyone searching for this info in future.

The Arrivals Lounge is after Customs and before luggage re-check, so you can move things in and out of checked luggage if you want. I appeared to be the first there for the day (5.30am) so no delays. The shower was modern and clean but the water temperature kept running hot and cold. I didn't stay in the lounge any longer and went on to the Domestic VIA Premium (not Platinum) Lounge.

The VIA Lounge was large and spacious with a large food selection and a Barista. I noted that there were plenty of showers furbished in a similar way to the Arrivals Lounge, and no-one using them at that time.

If I ever fly through JNB again at that time I would probably just go straight to the Domestic Lounge.
