I am taking my 18 year old daughter to visit my other daughter in Europe in November/December this year. We will be travelling via the US both ways.
I have already drawn some great advice by trawling the AFF forums, however I have a question regarding crossing the atlantic. I would like to stay with oneworld unless there is some compelling reason to use another carrier.
We will be travelling from New York to London and then back to Boston about 10 days later. Discount economy through the AA australian site is currently around A$1820 (for 2) and through the BA US site US$1732 (A$1891 without conversion costs). I briefly considered the Y+ option with BA but it is 60% more. I have travelled in that class on BA already and would not spend my own money on it. I now know there are cheaper options for SCs!
On a cost basis AA seems the way to go unless there is some advice to the contrary or there is likely to be some discounting in the next 6 months or so. I am a QP member so will get lounge access and at the moment that would most likely be more important in NY than London.
Any advice is welcomed thankfully.
