Just got this email from Jetstar.

Jetstar is very excited to announce a new service from Cairns to the Gold Coast, commencing
3 February 2009.

To celebrate we are offering a fantastic fare for a limted time only!

On sale until 5.00pm (17.00 AEST) 17 October 2008, unless sold out prior.

For travel between 3 February - 31 March 2009 and 28 April - 16 June 2009 (excluding 1 May and 5 June 2009).

This sale fare is a JetSaver Light^ fare for when you travel with carry on baggage only. You can choose a JetSaver fare for just $10 more and you'll get 20kg of checked baggage allowance.
 
Thanks for the heads up! I have just booked my husband and myself return flights for May! One of my best friends moved to Cairns a few months ago and I have been promising her for ages that we will visit her. The good thing is that OOL is only a ten min drive from home, so a lot better for us than flying from BNE!
