I don't mind it to be honest. It looks different, the main fusealge anyway. Granted the engines don't match the rest but I don't think they had a choice there....

The paintjob I actually don't mind.
Its fairly simple, yet not boring like the eurowhite trend.

Glad they have dumped the jetstar.com tag.

Lets face it. The A380 front profile is about as ugly as it gets. But I dont care once I'm inside and in the air. Its quiet and comfortable. Having a spare engine is also kinda nice on the flights to LAX.

The 380 is hideous from most angles. Airbus being a most appropriate name.

All a matter of opinion, of course.

Compared to the 747 it is not pleasant - but I have gotten used to it and there is a certain something that I do like about it.

Disagree. When its flying overhead, I'm still in wonder as how the heck something so large can fly so effortlessly.

Agree. Transport from A to B in the air for those who can't afford their own private vehicle. Also bowing is apt considering the angle at which the wings on a 787 curve.

What do you think of the inside?

Just looking at this Aus BT article about the innards of the J* 787. Decidedly unimpressed with the Y* disguised as J class seat. I was totally turned off. Hated the soundtrack.
Jetstar Boeing 787 Dreamliner business economy seats - Flights | hotels | frequent flyer | business class - Australian Business Traveller

I watched the video and thought 'epic fail' - gives an impression for the Y cabin of 'how many seats can we pack in'. Check out the (lack of) recline in J in the video.

And this quote
"When you’re only flying five to ten hours, the amount the customers need to pay for a lie-flat seat, for the space it takes up, just doesn’t work out" says Mark Dal Pra, who leads Jetstar’s 787 program.

Well Mark, maybe it doesn't work out for your profit margins, but when I'm on a ten hour overnight flight, calling such a seat J just doesn't work out for me, no matter how many rainbow colours the overhead lights do.

What a waste of QF Group's 787s!

Cheers skip

The seating looks like standard JQ J to me. JQ have never professed to have anything other than that. They are priced for a certain market, and if you don't fit that market, so be it. I have flown JQ J before, and I expect I will again. YMMV

I've always wondered why so much space is taken up with the arm rest. Surely as Australia gets fatter, thats valuable width that we can't use. Also the seats are so close together its almost possible to put standard 737 exit row tray tables in and extendable seat back tvs.

And as Australia gets fatter, the armrests mostly do a decent job of keeping people within their own seat.

looks nice and easy to convert back to QF Domestic - just replace the orange seat trim with red (and gurney off the seats!)
