Has anyone else experienced problems receiving their itinerary after booking Jetstar flights?
I booked flights with Jetstar last weekend and received a confirmation email with my booking reference number and the email also said that I would receive my itinerary within 24 hours (and if not received to contact them). It was not received so I phoned (call centre in another country), I was assured that my booking was confirmed and that the operator could see it in the system (I was unable to get to it via the 'my booking" procedure on the Jetstar website myself.)
I immediately received another email telling me that my itinerary would come in 24 hours et.c etc. same same
48 hours later still not received so I phoned again - same scenario, they can see booking and I can't.
The female operator told me that I 'have to wait' for my itinerary.
I said I had already waited 96 hours.
She said I just have to wait.
I asked how long, 2 weeks?, 2 months?
No, just 24 hours she said.
I said, I was told that last time...... getting nowehere fast.
I then asked to speak to a supervisor and she said I couldn't, 'the supervisor is busy'. I asked several times more and she refused, I then asked for her full name she would only give me her first name, saying she only had one name. I asked for her employees number then, she said she doesn't have one...........AAArghhh......

ANYWAY, I have now rung the Melbourne number (rather than the 131 #) listed on the website and have finally got some satisfaction. Apparently there is a fault in the system, but it is an intermittent fault, (therefore hard to fix) but this problem does occur where the system will not send out an itinerary no matter how many times requested.
Also, to gain access to the itinerary online I was guided through the Jetstar Australia website to the bottom left of the home page where it says "NEW - RESEND MY ITINERARY. This brings up the same page as when I used the 'my booking' but now I was finally able to get to my booking and see my itinerary. I hope this might help anyone else experiencing similar problems with Jetstar booking.
PS. I really wanted to book Qantas but it sems Qantas do not operate Perth to Denpasar any more???

Hi purplegez, welcome to AFF. :D

Thanks for the information on Jetstar.

(And, yes, QF no longer do the PER-DPS run)

Perth-Denpasar is, if anything, a leisure route, so it has gone the way of most other similar QF routes - given to JQ to operate. The alternatives operating on the sector (or about to) (GA, DJ, QZ) all have lower cost bases that QF, so it was a prime route to go over to JQ.

Agreed. But one thing I've always wondered is why Jetstar haven't taken over the Fiji route as well...

purplegez,

For what it's worth I've had a similar problem with QF recently. Booked two tickets and only one came through on email. The difference was I rang QF and was told they sometimes have this issue but that it was being resent immediately and it arrived before I finished on the phone.

If you look at what they have done in Perth, I think Tiger has given them a big fright, and they seem to have swung a few JQ resources onto Perth sectors (including ADL,MEL,SIN)

Email delays with Jetstar are pretty common. Longest wait we have had at work for a Jetstar itinerary is currently at 8 days. After asking to resend we were advised by our JQ contact they can only add a new request to the end of the queue.

Unfortunately this system is not as good as something like QF or DJ where their itineraries are pretty much instant (if not 5-10 mins at most).

But have learnt to live with it with Jetstar....

Hi purplegez

I had the same thing for a flight last month. First time on Jetstar and last time :) I don't like them at all. I went through the same stupid loop that you did !!!
 Jetstar.

Probably because the Qantas group is quite happy with the current codeshare arrangement that they have with Air Pacific to NAN.

Or perhaps the Banana-man got delayed by JQ and now won't let them fly to Fiji!
