Looking to fly Melb to Perth and was wondering if I could somehow still get QFF points?

typically that is possible by buying a $22 or so bundle but I read on here that if you call and ask for a price beat jetstar will apparently not offer you that option?

I dont care about date changes etc just want the points and some of their own fares is bloody stupid as it becomes more expensive than Qantas.

what about if you called/booked your flight etc and then tried to purchase extras online (as with a normal booking)? Could you not buy the bundle then?

what about other extras like meal(do they even serve a meal on that flight?), Ipad2(movies etc), extra baggage?

cheers

JQ will not allow the bundle to be added as it includes the ability to date change, which makes the price match pointless!

I got that but has anyone actually tried doing it themselves online?(if its possible)?

What about the other extras such as extra baggage, meal, IFE etc? can any of those be bought or not?

I would much prefer flying qantas but their cheapest is $279 and then its on a 767 with no IFE on the way to Perth. I have flown it before and prefer their a330 which seems to be only available at much higher prices to Perth (return is alright).

Have tried it all sorts of ways and the answer has not changed. Only thing you can do is add baggage.

so that option does not appear online at all?

how do you go about prepurchasing baggage or IFE or meal or comfort pack etc? online or via another phone call?

I tried to book these things early on a flight to Bali - JQ told me they are only sold onboard and they have a limited supply. I informed the flight attendant upon boarding that I wanted IFE and she made sure I was able to purchase it. Nothing you can do about the QFF points if you booked on a price match though.

what is with JQ and their 3 day price match/beat guarantee condition? tried booking a flight through them but was told they couldnt do anything as I need to book 3 days in advance. I asked the operator about just price matching it instead and no luck...... Also asked if there are plenty of seats and was told yes there were and so it appears theyd rather have the plane flying with empty seats than price match/beat/get close to etc? others experience this as well?

Rules are there for a reason, it is what it is!

I'm highly confused. If you just want the points and qantas is cheaper. Just buy the qantas fare. Then you don't need to worry about adding baggage and meals.

Also, I know nothing about jetstar aircraft but I thought the A330 only did international flights. I would have expected MEL-PER to be an A320.

Sent from my iPhone using Aust Freq Fly app so please excuse the lack of links.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

hmmm tried again and they wouldnt budge so I ended up booking with them ended up $130something.

I simply (speaking for myself) couldnt justify paying 2.5-3+ times that amount one way to fly Qantas (as QFF) or Virgin or Jetstar's own rates.

Price beat was painless and straight forward apart from that 72hr rule and that I couldnt get the start bundle. I have never flown any of the LCCs over here so it would be a first for me :)

God bless Tiger! I really hope they never go down as competition within the market place is a good thing for the consumer and without them in the game to keep the others somewhat fairer and more reasonable we would be leeched like there is no tomorrow. I didnt book with them primarily because I wanted to try Jetstar and their IFE.

1 thing though the operator stated that a large majority of the domestic flights dont have the IPAD IFE? Anyone know if it is available on the Melb-Perth route? It should be considering its a 4+hr flight.....
