Can anyone comment on this recent experience? We are both SG of some years standing
We booked CNS - NRT starter plus fares with JQ. They were sale fares, but definitely Starter Plus, so we would expect points and status credits at discount economy level. Shortly afterwards were offered paid upgrade - $200 per person - to Business, which we accepted (definitely not Business Max, so we were not expecting points and status credits at business level). However, the flight appears in our activity statement as 0 points, 0 status credits.
On our return flight - same, booking, same fare basis - we were also offered paid upgrade, but by the time we saw the email and acted on it, seats were all sold. Fair enough. So we travelled in economy and were awarded points and status credits at discount economy level, as expected.
By contrast, we recently booked QF Red e-Deal fares BNE - CNS and upgraded with points. Similar situation to that above, except we paid for the upgrade with points rather than cash. Economy class points and status credits awarded, as expected.
All of these situations occurred after the July changes to the QFF program.
I can't think of a reason why no points and status credits for the CNS - NRT flight. Can any members shed any light on this please?
