I think they are trying to match AirAsia on baggage options.
As it is more complicated, and fuel prices are up - more money grubbing needed, I guess it is not in the punters favor.
I think baggage prices are up and worst case $15 kilo excess tells me Shylock still wants a pound of flesh. Same price in other currencies spells out this is disrespect for Aussies.

But if I were to travel with a shopoholic, I would lean to JQ, as Tiger has no heavy baggage solutions, provided AirAsia was not available, whose baggage options, ensure the shops of KL do very nicely indeed.
