Hi all,
Thought I'd post a bit of information here incase anyone comes by and needs it. This is HEARSAY (albeit from a very reliable JetStar management source) and you should call the JetStar call centre to confirm your flights. Be advised that the call centre staff don't seem to be fully briefed either.
Because of the plane grounded in coughet, JQ have a shortage of planes for INT routes. I only know of some details for Japan to Australia:
27/01/2010
- Tokyo to Gold Coast has been changed. Passengers flying JQ12 will be put onto JQ26 (Tokyo - Cairns), leaving Tokyo 2120. There are no flights from Cairns to the Gold Coast with Jetstar tomorrow morning AFAIK.
Passengers will be put onto a Domestic Carins - Brisbane (yes, BNE!) flight. Note that Domestic flights do NOT HAVE STARCLASS. If you have paid for StarClass, you will not be flying StarClass from Cairns to BNE AFAIK. This flight will arrive BNE at 1145am local time.
Here's where it gets tricky - the call centre advised me directly that passengers will have to find their own way from Brisbane Airport to the Gold Coast. My JetStar source says that there will be a bus from Brisbane to the Gold Coast airport.
28/01/2010 --> ??
- You can choose to change your flight to another date free of charge if you wish. However, tomorrow's flight (at least) will be flying:
Narita (NRT) - Osaka (KIX) - Gold Coast (OOL)
- Not sure when flights will be back to normal - dependant on when the planes are available for use again. According to my JetStar source, this should only be for a couple of days.
As always, please note that this is HEARSAY and I only know about changes to these specific flights. I would strongly stress anyone travelling in the next few days on INT JetStar to please call and confirm your bookings as soon as possible. It would also be advisable to arrive at the airport a little earlier to ensure you can get everything sorted out.
The day Virgin starts flying Tokyo to Gold Coast, I'll never travel JetStar again...
